Update on this post: I have posted this post every February 8th, the anniversary of 'Birth of a Nation', for the past several years on Facebook without incident. Each time I verify the numerous links which have all been good, until this year; the Zerohedge link is broken, but I left it in this post for now. I have added a new link in comments.
Also, the YouTube account to the full length film has been terminated. I will endeavor to locate a new source and post it in comments.
Facebook may censor this post eventhough I made every effort to be fair and balanced by including opposing views. This will likely be the last time I will post this on Facebook as I await the roll out of Trump's social media platform, "Truth Social", later this month, after which I fully expect to take my leave of Facebook.
Without further ado . . .
D.W. Griffith's 'Birth of A Nation' Opens, Glorifying the KKK
On February 8, 1915, D.W. Griffith’s Birth of a Nation, a landmark film in the history of cinema, premieres at Clune’s Auditorium in Los Angeles. The silent film was America’s first feature-length motion picture and a box-office smash, and during its unprecedented three hours Griffith popularized countless filmmaking techniques that remain central to the art today. However, because of its explicit racism, Birth of a Nation is also regarded as one of the most offensive films ever made. Actually titled The Clansman for its first month of release, the film provides a highly subjective history of the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the rise of the Ku Klux Klan. Studied today as a masterpiece of political propaganda, Birth of a Nation caused riots in several cities and was banned in others but was seen by millions.

Rather than admitting the Democratic Party's grotesque and shameful past, like a leopard trying to change its spots, Democratic Party leaders have been rewriting history and removed certain Civil War monuments in the dark of night without voter approval, and accuse the Republican Party of racism.
To be sure, racism was not limited just to the Democratic Party. There were KKK members in the Republican Party as well, but not even close to the rampant racism that ran through the Democratic Party, especially in the south.
